“Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence.”

 – Abigail Adams

I have always loved teaching. Even as a child, I would line up my paper dolls and play “school”. After starting my teaching career and beginning my own family, my son was diagnosed as dyslexic in 1st grade. This revelation led me to a whole new science of teaching students to read and write. I studied teaching techniques and completed professional development to address fine motor delays, language processing problems, and learned the individual skills necessary to help struggling readers.

I have taught in public school, home school, and tutoring settings for over 20 years. I have found my passion in teaching and assessing individuals, and I specialize in dyslexia remediation, private English tutoring, and providing annual homeschool assessments.

Struggling readers do not have to remain struggling readers throughout their school years! With the correct systematic and consistent instruction in reading, writing, and spelling, dyslexic students or struggling readers can perform at or above grade level. It is my privilege to work with these students and help them to achieve their goals and dreams.
